Luis Mariano Palena at the next SOLACI-CACI

The renowned interventional radiologist and Italian investigator will be present at SOLACI-CACI 2017, taking part in various activities. Palena is a well-known specialist whose research has had great impact on the medical world. Due to his youth, talent, and potential, his participation at our Congress is a mandatory appointment for all attendees starved for knowledge.

  • On Wednesday, August 2nd, he will be a part of the joint SOLACI, Argentine Federation of Cardiology (FAC), and Argentine Society of Cardiology (SAC) panel, which will revolve around Therapeutic Options for Complex Aortoiliac Pathologies.” This activity will be held at Buen Ayre B Room, from 9 h to 10:30 h.
  • On Thursday, August 3rd, at 15:10 h, he will present a clinical case at Buen Ayre A Room.
  • Finally, this talented physician will give a lecture on managing critical ischemia in the lower limbs that same Thursday at 16:40 h. His conference, titled Angioplasty Below the Ankle: How, When, and Whom?”will take place at Buen Ayre B Room, Hilton Buenos Aires Hotel.

About Luis Mariano Palena

Luis Mariano Palena is an interventional radiologist at Policlínico Abano Terme (the excellence reference center for the Véneto region), Italy, who holds the position of co-director assistant at the Department of Interventional Radiology. He obtained his medical degree at University of Bologna, Italy. He completed post-graduate and specialization courses at University of Bologna, Italy.

Dr. Palena has written and published over 50 original and review papers, book chapters, and abstracts. Among these, some describe new advanced and extreme techniques for foot and leg vessel revascularization, which were first described and developed by Dr. Palena's work group.

He is actively concerned with advanced clinical research on endovascular treatment of lower limb arthropathy and diabetic foot treatment.

Specifically, Dr. Palena is focused on the treatment of chronic arterial occlusions in the femoral, tibial, and foot arteries. Dr. Palena has described and developed new treatment and extreme retrograde access techniques, combining new technologies and medical devices.
