Imaging + Simulation Course - Echocardiography and Hemodynamics

Hands-on 2026

Structural Heart Disease - Course based on transcatheter procedures on simulators performed by interventional cardiologists and echocardiographers

A dedicated course for interventional cardiologists and echocardiographers, integrating realistic structural intervention simulation, 2D/3D/MPR echocardiography and hemodynamics.

Important: to participate in the Image Course, interventional cardiologists interested in this activity must pay both the congress registration fee and the specific course registration fee.

Only echocardiographers, whether DIC members or non-members, may register exclusively for the Image Course without the need to be registered for the congress.

Organized by the SBHCI and DIC/SBC Center of Excellence in Simulation.

Course Date

July 29, 2026

The Image Course will take place during the first day of the SOLACI & SBHCI 2026 Congress in São Paulo, Brazil.

Simulation Course in Structural Cardiovascular Intervention

Integrated realistic simulation - 2D/3D/MPR echo + hemodynamics. Organized by: SBHCI Simulation Center + DIC.

01

Concept

Immersive course integrating structural intervention simulators, advanced echocardiography (2D, 3D and MPR), Philips TOMTEC workstations and 1 Philips Epiq CVx ultrasound system. Each module reproduces a real case with a dual-track structure: hemodynamic operator and structural echocardiographer, with shared checkpoints.

02

Educational pillars

  • image-guided procedure
  • operator-imaging communication
  • MPR/3D, measurements and planning
  • simulation with critical checkpoints
01

Start at 10:00 a.m. and focused opening

Condensed 5-minute institutional opening, preserving effective time for hands-on practice.

02

Technical break between Watchman and Amulet

Operational interval dedicated to simulator exchange/adjustment and transition between platforms.

03

ASD/PFO maintained in the program

Septal defects moved to the end of the afternoon, occupying the space previously planned for EchoNavigator.

General course structure

Integrated echo + hemodynamics practice

The course includes 8 modules, with a total workload of 7h10 and 5h20 of effective module content, integrating imaging, simulation and procedural communication throughout the day.

Program

Morning and afternoon blocks presented with integrated platforms, technical breaks and practical modules.
